Toolbox Meetings

Short toolbox meetings are a way of making the workday run more smoothly. A brief meeting at the start of the day gives everyone clarity about what needs to be done and why. It is also a way of dealing with any issues up front, and of improving teamwork through better (2-way) communication.

The objectives of having toolbox meetings are to:

	Raise and address any urgent issues regarding production or individuals;
	Foster identity and clarity of direction for the work team;
	Provide a forum for feedback to and from participants on how things are progressing;
	Offer an opportunity to generate creative alternatives and solutions through team work;
	Make people take responsibility for moving things along; and
	Build commitment to team decisions.
