What should you get from a cultural training?
- A cultural training should allow you to understand the basic of culture and its implications for communication with NESB clients.
- After the training, you should be able to describe the cultural diversity in Australia and particularly your target client groups.
- Distinguish the myths and facts in relation to ethnic groups and migrants that could affect your effective communication with them.
- You should also learn about the principles of culturally appropriate and user friendly services.
- And be aware of the effective communication skills with NESB clients.

Here are some training projects Multicultural Marketing and Management has undertaken:
|
MMM developed a cultural training workshop for the Department of Land and Water Conservation. This was part of the communication strategy on the water amnesty for the Hawkesbury/Nepean Region from 1999-2001. The strategy targeted legal and illegal water users amongst Arabic, Chinese, Maltese, Khmer, Italian and Vietnamese communities. |
|
For the federal government of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, we developed a training workshop on culturally appropriate services. This is part of the NESB communication campaign about the department's Agriculture - Advancing Australia program. The campaign targetted Arabic, Chinese, Italian, Greek, Croatian, Maltese, Macedonian, Vietnamese and Punjabi primary producers nationwide. (Press here to see extract of the training materials) |
