EMD Online Survey Tool
Our survey process begins by working with the client to define what outcomes are sought and, to generate ownership and understanding by employees in relation to the purpose, process and outcomes of the survey. Questionnaires are then developed, based on the outcomes sought by the organisation. The survey is administered through the web by EMD Consultants. The look and feel is customised for clients with their logo and colours. Guidelines and emails are also customised to suit the client. The data is automatically complied by the software and EMD delivers the reports complete with analysis. Data is held securely on an off-site server and the identity of respondents is confidential. Surveys can be developed based on:
Reports AvailableCategory Averages - Chart FormatDefinition: Category average refers to how well a person rated in such areas as leadership, customer focus etc. The behavioural questions relating to a broader competency have been grouped under a heading - category. Category average is calculated by adding all responses to a category of questions (excluding the person being rated), and dividing it by the number of respondents. Purpose of the report: At a glance you can get an over view of how all respondents rated performance in a category. The standard deviation indicates whether the raters ratings were closely grouped or spread out widely. The lower the standard deviation, the more closely the raters perceptions aligned. The bigger the standard deviation the bigger the spread of perceptions. Category Average By Rater TypeDefinition: Category average refers to how well a person is rated by a group of raters in a category. The category average by rater is calculated by adding together the response to all the behavioural description by a group of respondents of managers, peers, direct reports, customers etc. and producing an average score for the category. Purpose of the report: At a glance you can get an overview of how a rater (manager) or a group of raters have rated in a category. This enables a person to gain an understanding of how a specific group of people perceived their performance in a category. Summary Of Ratings For CategoryDefinition: Questions are grouped under a category and in the ratings column, the averages of each group of respondents is displayed. The Category average and Total at Rating line displays the average score for that category of questions given by the manager, self, etc. Purpose of report: This report is the most popular and provides a great overview and comparison of performance between raters. The spread of scoring becomes easy to see and it will provide clues as to whether there is close agreement about a persons performance in an area. Averages with small sample rise are not as useful as the spread of scores. Development NeedsDefinition: This report summarises the top development needs as seen across the different rating groups. Purpose of the report: This provides a snapshot of the areas where a person received their lowest score, thus enabling them to see at a glance where they may wish to invest their time/energy to improve the perception of their performance. StrengthsDefinition: This report summaries the top strengths as seen across the different rating groups. Purpose of the report: This provides a snapshot of the areas where a person received their highest score, thus enabling them to see at a glance where they excel and may wish to pursue further in terms of their career. General CommentsDefinition: This report is the recording of the unedited comments from raters to the subject. Raters are given the option of anonymity. Purpose of the report: To give raters the opportunity to give advise, either anonymously or identifying themselves, to the subjects of the survey. Comments that are included here can invariably add weight to results shown in other reports. Comparative Reports - IndividualThis report gives a 1 page snapshot of the person's performance in all categories as well as a brief analysis of the comparative results and areas for development.
